“Ten Steps to Change” Healthy Habit Challenge – Week 9 and 10

Week 9 - Talk to a Professional
In this day and age, information really is at our finger tips. We can “google search” anything and have a myriad of scientific research magazine articles and blog posts about the topic at our disposal. While knowledge IS power, nothing beats the knowledge gained from years of study and experience that comes from attaining and then practicing within a professional certification.
Before diagnosing yourself with low iron, talk to a health care provider and have some blood work done. Want to know why you can’t lose those last 10 pounds? Ask a nutritionist. Want to train for a marathon? Maybe that 16 week online program can be modified to fit your schedule and experience level so ask a coach or trainer for help.
Health and fitness professionals can help you pin point the solution to your problem in a timely and effective manner. Take advantage!
Week 10 – Have a Play Date
Week 10 of our “Ten Steps to Change” Healthy Habit Challenge” is finally here. Phew! Time for Zest Family Nutrition and Eastside Fitness to stop bugging you! That brings us to this weeks challenge item which is “Have a Play Date”. In other words, after 10 weeks of push ups, veggies, attending regular yoga classes, water, leaving the car at home, coming up with interesting bean and lentil recipes, trying new sports and activities, focusing on quality food items and exercises and visiting your family doctor or other health care providers….it is time to give yourself a mental break! ”Have a play date” can mean many things. To us it means not beating yourself up when you decide to have a hot dog from the Little League concession stand. Reading a book on the couch instead of rushing around to fit in your push ups and yoga class. Spend time with your family doing something fun for everyone. As long as you have formed those above mentioned healthy habits…it is okay to break them once in awhile. Trust that you will get back on track, tomorrow! And don’t worry, even though the Healthy Habit Challenge is officially over, Susan, Darnelle and Wendy will always be here with our “gentle” reminders.
Remember, all those who have participated in our “Ten Steps to Change” Healthy Habit Challenge will be entered into a draw for prizes. How do we know if you have been participating? We don’t so be sure to respond on our blog or on our facebook pages. Tell us about your newly formed healthy habits!
