South Hill Festival  Generation Celebration

May 26th (Yes!  That IS the same day as our Grand Opening!)  12pm-4pm 

Parking Lots at 47th and Fraser Street

Come check out what our fabulous neighborhood has to offer!  Food vendors, entertainment, games for kids, demonstrations, art projects, craft tables. ( Eastside Fitness will have a booth there  including a giant hopscotch game for kids and kids at heart, also be there between 2pm-2:30pm to participate in our Kundalini yoga demonstration.)

Yoga for Beginners Workshop

Sunday June 3rd  10am- 12pm

“Everything You Wanted to Know About Yoga But Were Afraid to Ask”  This workshop is designed for new students and students starting back to yoga after a long time off. Learn the basics of yoga postures and breathing techniques.  Learn why yoga is an excellent exercise and what the different styles of yoga have to offer.  This workshop will help to ensure you have the fundamental skills to build on when starting a yoga practice and will help you understand what to expect from each class.

When:  Sunday June 3rd 10am-12pm

Instructor : Samantha Sowassey -  Samantha’s passion is teaching and holistic health. After practicing yoga for almost 10 years, Samantha decided in 2009 to turn her passion into a full time endeavor.  She traveled to India and completed YogaLife’s 200-hour teacher training in Mcleod Ganj. Upon her return to her hometown of Vancouver, she hasn’t stopped learning. She has taken countless workshops and teacher’s trainings including intensive prenatal, kundalini and yin courses as well as a year long study in holistic nutrition at the Canadian School of Holistic Nutrition. She brings in what she has learned into her classes and provides tools for healthy living that go beyond the mat.

Students in this workshop will have the opportunity to purchase a special, 1 month unlimited pass so that they will have the opportunity to try different classes and see which style works for them.   This 1 month unlimited pass is for students who have taken the Yoga for Beginners Workshop and who are new to yoga or as gifts for friends and family as an opportunity for them to try out yoga.  The pass is available in the studio for $30 + hst.

Eastside Fitness offers 21 yoga classes per week.  All of our yoga instructors are passionate, knowledgeable and experienced in the practice of yoga.

 

South Hill Boot Camp

That’s what some of the moms at the local parent / tot group were feeling.  So they talked to the energetic women atEastside Fitness (new business started by locals) and asked Darnelle Moore to come out and teach a class in the community.  They figured out how to keep it cheap and even include a babysitter.  Neighbours are welcome to join South Hill Boot Camp each Monday & Friday from 10:00 – 11:00am in the basement of South Hill Church (43rd & Prince Edward)   $7.50 per session if you buy 4 entries.  Babysitting is provided at no extra charge.
